Bill Paxton, who stared in Aliens, Apollo 13 and Titanic, has passed away due to complications stemming from a recent surgery at the age of 61.
“Bill began his career in Hollywood working in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker,” a statement from Paxton’s family said. “We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.”
Paxton’s most recent roles include CBS’s adaptation of the movie Training Day and upcoming film The Circle, co-starring Emma Watson and Tom Hanks, which will also marks his last appearance on the big screen.
