The Pokemon Company announced on Thursday that the Pokemon anime will be leaving its home on Cartoon Network in the United States to move to Disney XD. This switch also accompanies an acquisition of the 19 previous seasons of the Pokemon series along with its 15 movies. This might be a way to unify the United States and Europe as the Pokemon anime already airs on Disney XD in Europe.
The Sun and Moon related season premiered in Japan Thursday, one day before the release of the games that the show will be loosely following. The United States will get the anime later, with a December 5, 2016 release date slated for the first two episodes as well as the debut of Pokemon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel.
